A two component, hard wearing coating, consisting of a liquid portion containing synthetic polymers, waterproofing admixtures and a cementitious powder portion consisting of fine fillers.
Uses
Denso Basecoat Kit in conjunction with a suitable scrim (Denso D10 Scrim) is used to provide a tough protective outer coating over Denso Petrolatum Tapes and as the saturation coat on Denso Fabric Backed Tapes.
Features
• Durable and weatherproof.
• Excellent flexibility.
• Good resistance to moderate trafficking.
• Application by brush or roller.
Application
Denso Covercoat/Basecoat shall be applied over Denso Petrolatum Tape or Fabric Backed Tapes.
Add component A (grey powder) to Component B (white liquid), whilst being thoroughly mixed using a wooden mixing stick or spatula. Keep mixing the solution until all the powder has been added and the mixture takes on a smooth slurry texture. The Denso Covercoat/Basecoat should be re-mixed every 10 to 15 minutes to ensure that there is no settling out or separation between the two components.
Seal the applied Petrolatum or Fabric Tape by applying a liberal coat of Denso Covercoat/ Basecoat to take on a copper appearance. The Denso Petrolatum or Fabric Tape is further protected and reinforced by another liberal amount of Denso Covercoat/ Basecoat, immediately followed by a circumferential wrap of Denso D10 Scrim, allowing a minimum of 75 mm overlap. As the application proceeds, continue to saturate the scrim by brushing with Denso Covercoat/Basecoat. The nominal coverage of the Denso Covercoat/ Basecoat is 1.3 L/m2 .
Allow Denso Covercoat/Basecoat to cure for a further 12 hours before applying a suitable Denso Topcoat. Lightly abrade Denso Covercoat/Basecoat prior to application of Topcoat.
