Denso Hi-Tack Primer
A high melting point petrolatum with added adhesive properties is typically used on irregularly shaped surfaces or where additional adhesive qualities are required.
Product Description
Denso Hi-Tack Primer is a high melting point petrolatum with added adhesive properties. The primer is very tacky and aids the adhesion of petrolatum tapes.
Uses
The primer is typically used on irregularly shaped surfaces or where additional adhesive qualities are required. Denso Hi-Tack Primer will penetrate existing rust, displace moisture and aid the adhesion of petrolatum tapes.
Features
• Minimal surface preparation (SSPC SP 2-3).
• Non-hardening and non-cracking.
• Accommodates vibration and movement of substrate.
• No shutdown necessary.
• Highly resistant to mineral acids, alkali and salts.
• Conforms to irregular surfaces.
• Brush applied.
Application
Prepare surfaces by removing all loose scale, rust or other foreign matter in accordance to SSPC
SP2 “Hand Tool Cleaning” or SP3 “Power Tool Cleaning”. High-pressure water wash of 3,000 – 7,000
psi (20.68 – 48.26 MPa) is also suitable.
Apply a thin uniform coat of Denso Hi-Tack Primer by brush at a coverage rate of 5 m2
/L (wet film thickness 200 µm, dry film thickness 140 µm). For maximum performance, allow primer to reach a
tack-dry state before applying mastic or tape (approximately 1 hour).
