Multiseal

moisture curing, single pack, liquid polyurethane penetrating waterproofing primer.

Duram Multiseal is a moisture-curing, single-pack, liquid polyurethane penetrating waterproofing primer. It is formulated to complement Duram Multithane and Duram 195 membranes as it is manufactured from identical resins contained in Multithane or Duram 195. As the resins employ cross-link technology, the chemical bond between the Multiseal, Multithane or Duram 195 is exceptionally strong. Multiseal as a primer: Improves the adhesion and preformance of the membrane, ‘locks – down’ dust and loose materials, improves the spreading and application of the subsequent membranes, pProvides a penetrative secondary waterproof barrier and mproves the coverage of the Multithane and Duram 195 membranes.

Multiseal is a penetrative sealer and provides a penetrative waterproof barrier when applied in 2 coats or more. DO NOT use it as a primary waterproofing membrane. Use only in conjunction with Duram MULTITHANE or Duarm 195 waterproofing membranes. For details, refer to Duram MULTITHANE or Duram 195 product data sheets. The MULTISEAL dries by evaporation of the solvent and then cures upon contact with water vapour in the air.

Uses

Duram MULTISEAL is formulated to prime most surfaces to be waterproofed using Duram MULTITHANE or Duram 195. It includes the following: concrete, cement and cement render, timber, Plaster Board and Fibre—cement sheeting, brick, and Block work. Given its inherent properties, it can also be used as a penetrative sealer. Ensure that the MULTISEAL is dry prior to the application of either MULTITHANE or DURAM 195.

Suitable Surfaces

MULTISEAL may be applied to the following surfaces: Concrete, cement and cement render. Timber. Plaster Board and Fibre – Cement sheeting. Brick and Block work. Ensure the surface is dry prior to application.

Limitations

  • Multiseal should not be used as a primary waterproofing membrane
  • Use only in conjunction with Duram MULTITHANE or Duarm 195 waterproofing membranes. For details, refer to Duram MULTITHANE or Duram 195 product data sheets
  • Multiseal should not be used to dilute Duram 195 or Multithane UV as Multitseal is not UV stabilised, and any dilution will diminish or negate the properties of these products
  • Multiseal is not a vapour barrier and should only be used when there is a very low risk of entrapped moisture in the slab
  • Multiseal should not be used as a primer Duram 195 and Multithane on roofs or exposed areas. The preferred primer for these areas is Duram Primeseal
