Liquid waterproofing

Liquid waterproofing systems are cold-applied membranes that provide long-term protection for flat and sloped external surfaces. They can be used on retaining walls, external cladding, balconies, podium decks, and more, offering a seamless finish that will protect surfaces for years to come. These systems can be applied by hand or sprayed onto surfaces.

Liquid waterproofing information

With over 120 years of experience and a highly trained team, we can provide you with the best possible guidance when it comes to choosing the right liquid waterproofing systems.

Liquid waterproofing is a type of waterproofing membrane that does not have any cementitious components and can be either a single- or two-part mix. This flexible membrane creates a seamless barrier, ensuring protection from water infiltration in various applications.

This is the most common type of waterproofing product. It is easy to apply, generally has no pot life limits, and is often cheaper than cementitious waterproofing products.

Liquid waterproofing products are often classified as Class 3 membranes, which means they have an elongation of greater than 300%. The technical data sheet that we supply with each product provides this information.

There are several types of liquid membranes available. Each has unique features that make it suitable for particular applications. The different types include Latex, Acrylic, Acrylic/Urethane blends, and moisture-cured polyurethane.

Liquid waterproofing membrane is applied evenly to the surface using a brush, roller, nylon broom, squeegee, or spray gun. It generally requires 2 or more coats, with each layer applied at the recommended coverage rate to ensure a uniform finish. It's important to cover all holes and voids to avoid pinholes, allowing each coat to dry fully before applying additional layers, and topcoating within the recommended curing time to ensure proper bonding between coats.
